The community of property system also applies to registered partnerships, except if the partners choose a property agreement (and, as in the case of marriage, they have the possibility to choose the separation of their assets). Law 76/2016 applies also to registered partnerships, the provisions concerning intestate successions, the reserved share, debarment, collation and family contract. Paragraph 21 (Law 76/2016) provides that articles concerning intestate successions, the registered share and debarment are also applicable to partners of registered partnerships.
